Situation
Point West Credit Union, a $103,000,000 financial institution serving more than 12,700 members, needed a new web site to better represent the credit union's products and services to current and potential members. After an exciting year, including a merger with Hacienda Credit Union, Point West Credit Union wanted to reach out to their expanded community to better advertise the breadth of their experience as a community-centered, responsive, and convenient financial institution.
Solution
Live Axle created a new and intuitive information architecture providing easier access to account information as well as loan and new member information. Next we designed a new look and feel that complimented the existing Point West brand elements found in their print marketing materials. And finally we developed both English and Spanish versions of the web site using Mambo Open Source Content Management System as the backend. The new Spanish language version can be accessed with the click of a single button on the site, and both language versions can be easily maintained using Mambo's administration tools.
Result
The redesigned web site has been well-received by members — in the two weeks following the launch of the new site they received nearly 100 emails from members thanking them for updating the site. And the number of online loan applications has immediately increased with the launch of the new site. By building the site with Mambo's content management system, Live Axle enabled Point West Credit Union to update and maintain the site, saving them both time and money.
