Situation
Rick Rappaport Photography, a commercial studio specializing in advertising, corporate and editorial imagery had an outdated website. The site reflected neither the current portfolio imagery of the studio nor the current brand. Realizing that more and more of his potential clients do research for photographers online, Rick could see his old site was quickly becoming a liability rather than an asset to his business. Rick called on Live Axle to redesign his web site to illustrate his capabilities and accomplishments as a photographer and showcase the studio's most recent work.

Solution
Live Axle worked with Rick on developing the content for his site as well as the environment and design in which he wanted to portray his images. The new site design echoes elements from some of the print marketing pieces Rick uses and takes them to a new and interactive level. The site is a hybrid of HTML for maximum compatibility and search-ability and Flash for elegant presentation. Live Axle created custom action scripting for the Flash-based portfolio area that dynamically pulls in new images and text from a simple directory structure. This allows Rick to manage the images and text in his portfolio section with no knowledge of Flash or HTML. Live Axle also created custom Photoshop templates for Rick to use when creating web galleries of his work for review by clients.

Result
Rick Rappaport Photography now uses the web as their lead educational vehicle when prospecting new business opportunities. All mailers and print materials direct recipients to the new site. This allows prospective clients the opportunity to review the studio's work in a quick and efficient manner.
